WHAT CAUSES

Eye Injuries?

Eye injuries are typically caused by a foreign body lodged in the eye – causing irritation, redness and possibly swelling. Most ocular trauma is sustained through falls, conflict or during transportation. While usually minor, some injuries may cause vision impairment if not addressed quickly.

Seek medical assistance immediately for a serious eye injury.

HOW TO TREAT

Eye Injuries

Simply flushing out the eye with an appropriate fluid – like a saline solution – can be enough to cleanse the eye of any contaminants. Washing the eye may also be important before applying other medication or drops that help heal the injury.
