Spinal Injuries?

Spinal cord injuries are the result of damage to the spinal cord or nerves at the end of the spinal canal. Spinal injuries can cause permanent changes to mobility, feeling and strength below the site of the injury. Common causes are falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries and workplace accidents.

Spinal Injuries

Do not move a person that may have a spinal injury. This may result in permanent paralysis. Keep the person still and place a heavy towel on either side of the neck or hold the head to prevent movement. Ensuring that the head and neck are immobilised is crucial to preventing further damage.
